I would like to congratulate Chris Felgate for his great performance at the Olympics today. Chris finished 42nd in the Mens Triathlon event, which was only five odd minutes behind the winner of the race. I had the pleasure of chatting to Chris on Sunday before his race and wishing him the best of luck. I told Chris to bring home the gold but he said to me that his aim was for a top 50 finish. And as I sit here and type this out today, a tear of happiness comes down my eye as I am overly happy for Chris and that he has achieved his goal of finishing in the Top 50. For me, this is as good as a Gold. When one achieves their goals, what more can you ask for? Chris has worked extremely hard for this and he deserves all the congratulations he gets.
You have made us really proud Chris and I am sure you are going to be back in 2012 for the Olympics in London and set yourself another goal you will achieve. Now after that near 2 hour long event you must be exhausted and it is time for you to kick back and relax. Can’t wait to meet up with you when you are in Johannesburg again and you can tell us all on Rons Crib about your experience, you truly amaze me. You swam, rode and ran for almost 2 hours! Now I struggle to have the energy to watch a two hour long movie!
Congratulations yet again to our Olympian.
